The Village of Bloomingdale today announced the official site plans, logo, and first tenant for The Grove at Bloomingdale, a vibrant new $78 million mixed-use development that will bring dining, shopping, entertainment, and residential living to the heart of the Village. Opening in 2027, The Grove’s first confirmed tenant is Bloomingdale Yard, a 100,000 sq. ft. indoor sports and family recreation destination offering year-round programming for children and adults.

A Major Milestone for Bloomingdale’s Revitalization

The Grove represents a key step in the Village’s long-range redevelopment efforts, transforming the former Stratford Square Mall site into a community-centered destination shaped directly by resident input. The project stems from a comprehensive redevelopment plan launched in September 2024 and informed by years of community feedback, including:

  • A 2022 resident survey

  • Public forums

  • Open Village Board discussions

This collaboration helped shape a vision that enhances quality of life, supports economic growth, and attracts visitors for generations to come.

A Logo Inspired by Bloomingdale’s Landscape

The Grove’s newly unveiled logo draws inspiration from the white ash tree, a defining part of Bloomingdale’s natural environment. Its form symbolizes strength, growth, and community connection. Accents of gold and green reflect the Village’s lush landscape, embodying the warmth, vibrancy, and welcoming character that The Grove aims to deliver.

Bloomingdale Yard Announced as First Tenant

As the development’s first official tenant, Bloomingdale Yard will offer an extensive range of sports programming for children and adults, including soccer and football leagues, training, after-school sports, birthday parties, a full-service childcare center, and an interactive playroom.

The Yard companies began in 2010 with Westmont Yard, followed by Naperville Yard (2016) and Milwaukee Yard (2021). Westmont and Naperville draw roughly 260,000 visitors annually, demonstrating strong community demand for family-oriented recreation and childcare.

“The Grove represents the next chapter in Bloomingdale’s growth — a place where families, friends, and visitors can come together to live, dine, shop and celebrate,” said Mayor Franco Coladipietro.“Bloomingdale Yard is a strong debut tenant, offering programs and experiences that reflect the vibrancy and community focus at the heart of The Grove.”

The Village anticipates additional tenant announcements as development progresses.

What The Grove Will Offer

Developed in partnership with Segovia Partners, Gravity Architecture & Design, Peak Construction Corporation, and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, The Grove will feature:

  • A large man-made lake with water features, artistic seating, and lush landscaping

  • A central lawn for concerts, festivals, markets, and outdoor events

  • 280 luxury residences

  • A dog park and walk-up bar
